Cream Cheese and Sausage Pinwheels~

Post by ~Annastasia~ on Sun Jul 19, 2015 10:06 am

I don't have exact measurements Shocked  These things are so good, and you can use any variation you want bounce

Pillsbury Cresent Rolls~ Lay them out flat on a cold cookie sheet. Don't separate them!! Put pan in fridge to keep cool while working on other things.

Brown one roll of regular and one roll of spicy sausage and drain well. Once drained add back to frying pan and mix in cream cheese. It will be a sticky hot mess, but go with it.

I add some red pepper flakes to the mix cause I'm a freak Twisted Evil

Take the meat cheese mixture and spread over the entire pan of cresent rolls. Sprinkle some cheddar if you like over that then roll up to form a pinwheel. Put the log back in the fridge to firm back up. Slice and bake at 350 till as brown as you like em. They are so good pig

You could make these with hamburger meat, bell pepper, onions, etc change the cheese to pepper jack and add bacon OMG the possibilities are endless and easy!!

Now Jackson you know the baby would love some of these. I am hoping others will post a cookie thread...maybe a salad thread to make us feel better anyway Laughing

Ok, these are my favorite cookies EVER and they come from The Pioneer Woman. They are chewy and big and work great to make ice cream sandwiches with.

Malted Milk Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 cup (2 sticks) Unsalted Butter (softened)
3/4 Cup Brown Sugar
3/4 Cup Granulated Sugar
2 Eggs
2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
2 Cups All Purpose Flour
1 & 1/4 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1 & 1/4 Teaspoon Salt
1/2 Cup (rounded) Malted Milk Powder (My hand slips quite a bit when adding this)
1 bag Milk Chocolate Chips (I prefer semi-sweet as the batter is pretty sweet as is, also usually only put 1/2-3/4 of the bag)

Preheat oven to 375. Cream butter and then add both sugars, cream until fluffy. Add eggs and beat slightly (important to only beat slightly, the more you beat eggs in baking, the more cake like your outcome), then add vanilla and beat until combined. Add malted milk powder and beat until combined. Sift together flour, baking soda, salt and add to batter mixture, beating gently until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips gently. Bake for 10-12 minutes, less = chewier cookies, more = crispier.

I've found these can spread out to make some massive cookies when you use a cookie scoop vs a teaspoon to put on the cookie sheet. So it's really what you prefer, they're great big or small. I've forgotten about them in the oven and they're still chewy, so just keep an eye out, you know your oven best!

I found a cabbage soup recipe that I want to try. I want to do a little healthy trial run again for the zillionth time Rolling Eyes

I saw a post on failbook about ground beef drained really well, crushed tomatoes, tomato puree, garlic, onion, beef broth and lots of cabbage. Sounds good to me.

LOL We don't get paid till Thursday this week, and I am starving. You know how it is when you've run out of everything you thought you had plenty of O.o We have food to hold us...just nothing that makes sense. We are out of rice and potatoes ... how does that happen? We are having pinto beans and toasted garlic/mozzarella bread for lunch. Weird right? Well we are out of milk till tonight haha I didn't have my change purse with me after church to run in and get milk to make cornbread, so we shall have toasted bread with cheese haha This thread is making me hungrier ... why did I even peek in here?

OH...to say that I think cabbage is great by itself, but I feel like it will be more filling to have some hamburger and potatoes dancing in there as well. So, Thursday when the check hits the bank we are going to make this cabbage creation and add potatoes to it. I will post a pic and everything .. woohoo
